Hello from Nebraska
Recently acquired a new toy, and found this site yesterday. Immediately signed up, and got the blessing to post today. Ran across a Cub 147 with a Johnson workhorse 10TC loader on it very cheap because it had an electrical gremlin the previous owner was tired of chasing. I grew up in a mechanics shop, and am an engineer by trade, so it was right up my alley. 5 minutes and fixed, then installed a new plug and had spark again. Drained and cleaned the tank, got rid of the sight bowl, installed fittings, a fuel shutoff switch, inline filter, and cleaned the carb. Couple adjustments to the carb, and its alive!! Loader works well also. Now that I know it runs, the spending begins. Muffler was barely there, so that got replaced. New choke cable on, an oil change, and the rear ag style tires/tubes will be delivered tomorrow. Lights don't work, but haven't really dug into that one because it isn't really a priority. Was toying with the idea of painting it red previously, and when i found the "149 restofication" by IHinIN, its a done deal. Read the entire thread, magnificent job on that tractor, and hope mine turns out that well. It sat on the trailer for a couple weeks, got brought into the shop and sat there until last week. As you see in one of the pics, there's a bigger project burning up my free time, but after dark, the tractor gets its turn.
Thanks for the site, and you will be seeing me again.
