I have had the same problem I have bought 2 regulators.they do not give us the paper work that would tell us how to adjust them. I have all my cub cadet books for my cub 169.the regulators are not adjusted correctly for our Cubs .I have the manuals for my cub. But they still do not give me all the data of how to adjust them But I first checkek all of my connects. I just bought my first new ignition switch, I have come across somebody said they found that the ignition switch was there problem. I think I may take my tractor to a place I have been dealing with them for a least 30 yrs. they are still handling cub among other tractors an lawn mowers . I got me some acid to dunk all of my wire female plugs and clean all of my connections. I have my rotter tiller , snow thrower, snow blade, harrow items. I have been through the years buyiny parts before they are no longer can be bought. 2 yrs ago my motor broke a rod . The oil was just as clean as if I just change oil. Ti try to get another mother but none a valible. I tried to get the place I have buying parts to over hall it and they said it is to old to get the parts . S o I have all the tools I need to do it myself. So I overhauled it. It took e 2 months to find the parts I needed.long story short it running just like it was new.I guess it time for me to go. The regulators do not come adjusted for you cub. Bye
