Hi all,
well its a good thing I didnt just jump ahead with hooking this up.
I have a new starter gen and a new regulator, however after reading apparantly there are two types of generators and (I think) requiring two different regulators.
For anyone reading this who is new, one mistake and the generator OR regulator can be fried instantly!
So I bought a GDR0003 (aka 1101691 and 1101996) for a 69-72 CC, and I have a
"two-unit" voltage regulator. According to this document,
http://ruiter.ca/mc/info/PDFs/1R-116.pdf my regulator works with a
"third brush" style starter generator.
(the three-unit regulator works with a
"shunt-type" starter generator.)
I just dont know is the GDR0003 that I purchased goes with this two-unit regulator.
It would be hard to remove the SG at this point to look inside.
Does anyone know which type I have based on the part number?
Also any tips on "polarizing" the VR and generator would be appreciated as well, because I read thats easy to screw up as well for a novice!
Thanks~!
