welcome. Why gtx2100? Found one close by? I"M not familiar with that exact model, but looks very similar to the 2185 that I spent a lot of time on. Assuming it is they are fairly robust tractors for lawn mowing. What else do you plan to use for? Are any accessories included? Snow blower, yard cart, ect....

Check the engine and transaxel oil level and condition. Check for leaks under the tractor. Start the tractor and check that it runs smoothly. Shouldn't oscillate up and down in RPM's at idle. Engage the pto and check the safety interlocks, seat sensor, mow in reverse lockout ect.. Check the belt condition. 2 belts. One for the 3 spindles and one from the front of the engine to the deck. I find the Kohler command engines to be quite good and have never had a problem.

The GTX2100 may have the electric deck lift option, check that out to ensure operation. Look for dried oil on the frame or deck or inside of the hood. Look for pealing paint in the areas where your feet rest. Check the rear end for construction. Is it cast iron or the cheaper pot metal? Does the tachometer work? How many hours?

Check the grease fittings on the front end. Are they dry or were they greased? Also may be one fitting at the base of the steering shaft under the hood and battery. Bring a flash light. Look for wobble in the oscillation bolt in the front axle. The main pivot bolt front and center can wear and cause the front axle to wobble. Place your foot on the front tire and push fore/aft and watch for unwanted movement in the axle.

This is a 2000 series tractor and has a heaver frame and can use ground engaging implements. Shaft drive transmission with a horizontal crank shaft engine. I guess those are my thoughts.. Hope it goes well for you.
