Default I found the problem

I know folks like to know the rest of story, so after 4 years of watching the oil pressure gauge fluctuate, I decided to open the engine and see what was going on. While removing the bolts, I noticed that someone had been into the engine. When I removed the oil pickup tube from the pump, I noticed the o-ring had a slight problem. Apparently it would suck in a gulp of air every couple of seconds and cause the gauge to flicker. The oring is located at just below the top of the oil level. It looks like someone put the ring in dry and it rolled instead of sliding. Just don't know why someone would have taken it apart. A new o-ring and it works like a new one. The engine always had good pressure so I wasn't real concerned.
