Morning and thank you.............yes straightened out the deck but didn't need a sledge, just used a pipe wrench as the metal is almost as pliable as lead...
Also, yes to all except F. which I am going to test today.
UPDATE
Rechecked and verified the .017 gap and all good
Removed the main drive belt
Rechecked the belt on the blades and the belt and blades spin freely
Started and let warm up and then engaged the PTO...PTO engaged successfully with only a very slight squeak
Before I reinstalled the main drive belt, I checked ALL drive belt pulleys and they ALL turn freely.
Reinstalled drive belt and checked tension on belt. (This time I left the belt "slightly" looser (maybe 2 turns of the adjuster) than the previous install just to see if it matters).
Cranked it up, engaged the PTO and she engaged fine.
All good now and I am going to stop typing before my luck runs out.
