New SG and VR not charging on a Marine Engine
hi all,
well I installed the cub starter generator on an antique engine, and finally decided to hook up the regulator which is new. no charge.
Someone said i have to "polarize" the generator. Other posts say not to.
I read that quick grounding the Field terminal should produce an unregulated charge. It didnt.
Not sure where to go next, how to test the generator or of it needs to be "polarized"?
