I'm confused too, but I do know if you have the charge pump installed *180 off, it will not pump.
Now on the charge pump:
Sitting on the tractor, the mounting ear (where the retaining bolts go) of the charge pump with the milled flat on the end of it, goes toward your right knee, not your left knee.
Too late now, but the first rule of repairing things unfamiliar is mark/take pictures, lotsa pictures and look for witness marks like stains, wear marks ect. guessing usually gets you lost.
If you not only mixed up the valve plates, but flipped them over, all bets are off as your chances of getting them right are slim to none.
Best to look for a used pump on the internet, they usually go for $100 or so.
