The 2086 had a Kawasaki FD620D‐AS13 engine in it. Looks like a Magneto style of ignition system. I can't connect the dots between a heavy amperage draw (from PTO) and the Ignition System.

The engine uses a 6 wire V/R. 2 input wires, 2 output wires, a signal wire, and a ground. Maybe there is an issue with this. But, I am NOT a Kawasaki expert.
