Yes, you use the tip of the axle like a crowbar.
Stick the splined end in thru the seal about 1/4 inch so that it can grab the inner edge of the seal and push the lugged end off to the side like you are pulling a nail out with a crowbar.
It will pry right out, eezy peezy.
