Hi All,
As I had to do a lot of research to find the right part numbers and sources for rebuilding my QA42A Snow Thrower, I thought I would make a repository of information for future reference to help others doing the same. This information should transfer to QA-36, QA-42, QA-36A, and QA-42A throwers.
Bearings:
Chain Adjuster Bearings: 1" O.D. x 3/4" I.D. x 5/8" Wide full complement needle bearing with oil hole. I used Koyo B-1210-OH.
Auger Bearings: 1" bore universal bearings with locking collar. 2-piece flange with 3" diameter bolt pattern. Universally available at parts stores and farm stores or online.
U-Joints:
Driveshaft U-joints: Napa Precision 1501 (Napa Canada Part # NPJ P1501)
Snow thrower chute adjustment handle universal joint: Purchased from Cub Cadet (Part #684-04350); Also available from ccspecialities

Hardware: The hardware is all universal and can be purchased at your favourite local hardware store.
Chain Adjuster Sprocket Shims: To help keep the sprocket aligned, use shims. CC Specialties sells them, I got some 3/4" I.D. x 1.25" O.D. shims from my local industrial supply.
Gearbox Grease: Mine was filled with grease, standard multi-purpose grease is suitable.
