Hello everyone,

Total newbie here but after searching through the forum, I sure appreciate the willingness to help.

I recently bought a used 1641 and after a few runs, the old rig wouldn't start. A new solenoid fixed 1 problem, but now the battery isn't charging.

I've checked the stator and am getting low 30's AC out. My question is can the output voltage be too high? I'm testing 20v DC out of the regulator. At first I was thinking awesome! But I see that it should really be mid 13's.

Before I started chasing back up to the key switch, I figured I'd check with the pros.

Any help is very much appreciated.
