Parts for those opposed twins are getting scarce, and not the easiest to work on with the split crankcase. My recommendation would be a Command repower but that will take some time, work, and money to complete the conversion.
I did mine a few years back and am happy with the results. I estimated I had about $800 in mine at the time. I've since made my own wiring harness and added an oil cooler to the engine, so probably add another $400.
I believe there are some companies that offer conversion kits that are ready to install but I'm not familiar with them specifically.
