I used a LED light wired to one of the GP's when I removed the original GP heat indicator. That way I can be sure the plugs are getting juice. Make sure that you remove that because it is wired in series with the original setup.

I hope you don't have any major issues with your oil pressure problem. All of my diesel's have the light go out in about 2-3 seconds at low idle when started.
