Rick, "that bad" depends on what you want for a finished product. The valspar is OK paint when you add hardener, but the durability is not going to be near as good with auto paint. plus auto paint will look far better and I think shoot easier than valspar. If you're going to work the snot out of it, go valspar.. If you are going to use it and show it, then I would highly recomemd auto paint.

I will be doing the 682 this spring, and I am pondering which to use myself. I work the 682 far more than I do the CCO
