I have a thread pitch gauge, but I didn’t think about using it until later on; I was in a bind because the tractor was unexpectedly down. I drained the hydro oil first instead of changing the filter first because I assumed the filter would work. Only reason I went through all of this is because the diff cover leaked. It wasn’t true and flat like my cylinder head now so I just a high quality RTV like what I’d use on a GM rear end. No leaks and its doing fine.
