First did you check to see if the EXHAUST hole/port was clogged with mud dauber critters clay/mud?
----this is their time of the year.
Then burn out the cylinder with your propane torch, ridding it of residual fuel, as you say the plug is "wet" then install a fresh plug or burn out the "wet" plug.
when that is done, if you "cleaned" the carb it just might need a slight tweeking of the low and high jet settings as you had them out to "clean" the carb.
But admittingly, they can only be adjusted/tweaked after it is running,
Did you return the screw settings to where they were when it ran well? other wise you need to start with the basic settings suggested in the "book"
Do not use "starting fluid" carb cleaner etc as a "starting aid"
