On My 106 when I went from Manual to Electric Lift. I did not Have to Take off the foot rest I drove the front end of the Tractor Onto Car Ramps and was able to unbolted the rocker shaft Mounting Brackets then slide the handle through the lift arm slot.

BTW, Cubcadetpatrick, consider replacing the electric lift On your 147 with a New actuator. I Bought a 4-inch Thompson actuator from Johnny Products and Replaced the duff-Norton actuator On the 106 I did Half to Make a New actuator Mounting Bracket But with the Permanent Bracket on the 147 You cut the actuator Mounting Pin off the Bracket then drill a Hole where the Pin was and Use a PIN instead with Multiple Holes then You will need to Buy the Clevis Assy, Hyd Cyl End Need at Least 2 Nuts and a Bolt and Have a Bracket Made
