Thank you again for all the valuable feedback! I appreciate it very much.
By "electronic" clutch- I meant a normal electro magnetic clutch vs pure mechanical clutch like the older cubs I have 149 and 125 Plus snow blower, tiller, wheel weights etc..
I will redo compression and if it is that high I will check for carbon build up in the cylinder. I have not added oil to the cylinders yet for storage so it should not be skewed there. Maybe I am remembering wrong-It was one of the first things I check before loading up the mower a few years ago. For the price I was taking it if the motor was solid. I remember the numbers being very good. I make sure to run everything with an engine several times a year. Just took this one out of rotation lol. Would 100-110 PSI with a spark plug hole screw in compression gauge be a more usual range?
The air cleaner and housing did not have any oil present /noticeable inside it. The metal base it sits on was dry for initial filter replacement with a Kohler filter and recent removal to remove throttle cable/choke cables when I pulled the engine. Glad to hear that is a good sign!
I have not hooked up an oil pressure gauge since I purchased. I don't recall what it was. Good idea. I can clamp down the mounting plate from the snapper which is still attached to run for a bit.
Yes shipping won't be fun, so the list price for ebay would be much higher than craigslist. I don't mind reminders there for sure.
Thank you for the help!
