There is a baffle inside these metal tanks
This one is from a 102 that sat outside for decades.
It is the smaller version.
Your 149 should have the larger version.
Trust me, there is also a baffle in it, you can feel it with your finger.
I dunno, but this sure looks like a baffle to me!
