Haban had designed it for MTD 1st, don't know if they actually Produced it On the Haban Line before it was shuttered after Haban had sold itself to Agri-Fab in 2000 due to Bankruptcy .
I actually had the 30-inch Hydraulic tiller on MY 2206 which was purchased new with the 2206 in 2002. The Hydraulic tiller went with the 2206 In 2018 when I Bought the XT3 GSX. I still found while the Cub Hydraulic tiller was more user-friendly, meaning you didn't have to switch the frame around to back till. Flip a Lever On the MTD/cub and you could till in either direction
The Deere 42-inch Hydraulic still did a nicer Job on 1 Pass tilling compared to the MTD Cub Hydraulic tiller I used. That said, the MTD/Cub Hydraulic tiller did do a Better Job than the Brush Hog Mechanical tiller 40 or 42-inch tiller designed for the Supers.
When the 3000 series 1st came out MTD/Cub Did Market a 48-inch PTO tiller In Canada using a 2000RPM rear PTO But In the states at first they marketed the 8HP 3 point Tiller which had been Marketed for the Standard size Cyclops and earlier standard size Garden tractors. 2000 the 42-inch Hydraulic Finally Came out for the 3000 series
Deere engineers actually designed the own Hydraulic tiller But Had another company Produce it for them
I really wish the MTD engineers had been smarter with there 2011 2000 series design and Made it so the 30-inch Hydraulic tiller and electric lift sleeve Hitch could Have worked On the 2000/XT3 series as they had adapted one for a 2000 series commercial In 2011/2012. I would Have Kept the 30-inch Hydraulic tiller then Because it was great for cultivating . Will see how the Bercomac does as I still haven't set it Up On the XT3 GSX yet.
But the 3 Hydraulic tiller's I know of In the US always outperformed the Mechanical PTO tillers Deere, MTD/Cub and Ingersoll Much better tillers at Breaking new ground in a single Pass
I would Rate them
1. Ingersoll
2. Deere
3. MTD/Cub
Had a Neighbor In NY Let me try out the Ingersoll Hydraulic tiller On his 3014 I had a 3016PS at the time . But wife said No to tiller and Hydraulic PTO at the time for the Ingersoll 3016PS unless I got rid of tiller on JD 240 at the time.
See she created a tiller collecting Monster I have the Deere 647 48-inch Mechanical Deere 42-inch Hydraulic , Deere 30-inch Mechanical , Bercomac 30-inch Mechanical and IH Number 2 38-inch Mechanical tillers
