The first thing I would do is get a steering box rebuild kit from MACTECH, loosen the steering box to be able to position it to get the steering plate out and replace the tapered pin, put it back together and make adjustment to the pin to get the desired steering. The kit comes with new ball bearings but if it comes to destroying your steering wheel to get shaft out I would just replace the pin. Worked for me.
