I figured I should deal with the hydraulic valve while the engine is out of the way.

Nothing really lined up well and there was just a very sloppy bolt connecting the lever directly to the spool which allowed enough free play not to bind. I’m pretty sure now that the whole thing is home made although the cross shaft is bent nicely. I resealed the valve and decided to just rework what was there. I drilled holes through the lever and shaft to relocate it properly and used a #50 chain link to connect the spool to the lever. Everything lines up properly now and operates smoothly.

Painting is 95% done, but I can see the topside of the pan will need a wet sand and one final coat.
