I've been there too on items. Sometimes I'll hear back a week later on it all of the sudden. Part of it I think is people wait on the first person to reply not realizing how people never show, so they've put all their eggs in the first basket so to speak. So many people now say "I for sure want it" just so you'll hold it until they feel like taking a leisurely look at it that inexperienced sellers probably wouldn't pick up on this.
As for the spam, I've had more than my share of scams wanting money and spam about insurance and what-not. I can pick up on it pretty easy anymore.
I will ask this to take it one step further. Does anyone actually get spam from these? I know many of them must have my email address from responding to them, but I've had the same Outlook Express email for 6 years and never get spam from unknown sources. I know people that have to sift through hundreds of spam emails daily until they change addresses, but I've never had anything. The only spam I get is from Amazon, Ebay, and Heartland America. They just burn up my inbox at times and makes me regret ever buying from any of them. I've even blocked the emails and they must use different addresses to send them each time.
