To this day people who weren't here at the time tell me I'm crazy when I tell them just what that little tractor did here not only did it landscape about 2 acres of land but it also dug the cellar under the house! That's a 40x40 hole about 5 feet deep (there was only a crawl space) It also leveled the lawn where all that basement dirt went as fill over a banking,That's besides it's normal job of mowing almost 3 acres and plowing snow in 800 feet of driveway and tilling the 20x40 garden.Dad wore out the Kohler 7 horse and rebuilt it to a 10 Hp seems they only differed in bore size(at least that,s what I was told ) Dad did say he built it to the next engine size because the dealer told him the block was the same ) I do know it ran another 10 years at least and was running fine when he traded it in on the new Cub in the early 80s he never once had trouble with the power train other than the rebuild of the "tired" 7 horse motor it had the hydrostatic trans.I plan to keep in touch with the current owner and I offered him a good running 16 HP Wheel Horse along with a transaxle for another tractor he has besides a 7x10 trailer in exchange for dads dead cub but so far no deal !
