If you have not done already I would find the chassis manual for
your tractor in the manual sections of this site.
You will find how to set the the brake/clutch pedal travel in there.
Among a pile of info you will want for your project. I would start
with that setting and at least eliminate that possibility.
Enjoy the tasks, that is the most important part. You will soon be
a better mechanic then you think you are.

I press the clutch the whole way down and then put it in gear, when I let off the clutch entirely, no movement happens it might jolt forward a little (less than an inch) but when I press the clutch lets say 80% of the way down, it will then start moving very slowly.
