All 782D's were actually 882's. Look at your model number. They were built in 1984 & 1985.
All 1984 machines had a model #144882399 for the red 782d & 144882100 for a yellow and white 882.
The 1985 machines were 145882399 for the red or 145882100 for the yellow & white.
During the period that red machines were built next to the yellow & white, the ending of the model number will tell you what color it left the factory with.
144 is 1984
145 is 1985
399 is always red
100 is always yellow & white
I would be surprised if MTD would even try and answer your question. This company could care less about your machine and probably the people working there don't even know what it is.
