Can anyone tell me why Cub is so secretive about this engine? The rest of the tractor is pretty much a standard MTD build with a few modifications. The XT2 is a step above what the box stores sell. I am having buyers remorse over purchasing a unit with EFI, which is one of the main reasons I bought this tractor. I hate to replace the tractor, but whatever is wrong is going to hard fail one day. The parts for the engine EFI unit are very expensive, $670 for a fuel pump because you have to buy the tank with it. I’m considering purchasing a 22 to 24 hp carbureted engine and a standard bottom fed fuel tank and going old school with this thing. 6 years on a tractor is a short life span. I worked on a 12 year old Craftsman YT3000 that has not had much maintenance since 2017. I changed the blades, the belt for the blade drive and a belt guide. Other than that the tractor runs good even with a 21 HP Briggs Inteck. Never had the valves adjusted and still runs. This Cub cost double what this Craftsman cost and has more than double the life of this Cub. Sorry for the rant, but if I could find some information like electrical prints and service procedures I could figure out my problem. I don’t want to pay a dealer and do without my mower for a month or more. Very disappointed in the lack of information provided by Cub Cadet / MTD.
