After inspecting the spring set up on my hydro trunion, I need to proceed with repairs. I believe I have read most of the info on the repairs but I’m am struggling to figure out how to remove the control bar from the transmission. In looking at a transmission manual they show what looks like some snap ring groves but other diagrams do not show that.

I’m not that experienced with mechanical items so I’m hoping you all might be able to give me some pointers. I’ll attempt to add pictures of what I’m talking about.
