I'm going guess that an 1864 is too old to have a fuel shut off soleniod carb, unless it's been modified. Also doesn't simply turning off the key serve the same purpose as your switch, unless
you have a leaky carb and want to empty the float bowl first. Either way the original problem hasn't been fixed.
