I’m going to use the excuse that it had been a long day and I have a bad cold… not sure that gets me any sympathy… but I made a rather silly mistake. The picture I posted( I didn’t look close enough) was not from my tractor but rather one I found on the internet to compare to mine… it doesn’t. I looked more closely at the picture and realized I don’t have a dip stick at the top of the motor… Hummmmm senior moment.
My motor looks more like this but I don’t have a pic without the air cleaner.
I do know there are cobbled connections tho and the tractor is now not at my home where I can easily access it to take a new pic.
Good suggestion on the tachometer will look into that soon.
I still would like a pic of the 149 engine without the carb to compare if anyone has that or can point me to a good resource.
