So I’ve finally had time to work on this tractor. I had to pull the engine to fix the starter. The entire blower housing was packed with mouse house. That was a disgusting mess. Got it all back together, and it didn’t want to fire. I ended up stealing the whole ignition and carburetor from the KT-17 in my Wheel Horse.

The governor was out of adjustment, and the carb needed at least a full extra turn on the main needle. It’s got to be close to 4 turns out now, but running great.

I had the points cover off to set the timing, and forgot about it. Opened the hood to find the tappet cover full of oil. There was a steady spray of oil coming from the screw hole on the PTO side. There was noticeable crankcase pressure, and blocking the hole with my finger caused a change in idle speed. Flywheel side is in fact a blind hole.

I figured I’d put this to bed, in case anyone ever stumbles across this post in the future.
