Having successfully done a couple Tuff-Torqs and Hydro-Gears here's what I can tell you from experience:
Unless you are 110% certain that you can do the job, don't even think about it.
It requires that you be totally prepared and unbelievably meticulous in what you do.
I watched dozens of videos and read other peoples posts who did repairs, and I took dozens of step-by-step photos as I disassembled.
Would I do it again? Yeah, because of the obvious "the more you do it".
But here's the kicker, even if you could find someone that would do it for free, the cost
of new internal parts for these things is WAY beyond what you may imagining your final bill might be,
and of course you won't know what you need until it's disasembled.
