I tried some 2x white on a seat and it scratched off pretty easily. I used the white appliance epoxy on some rims & that seems much more durable. It seems that the 2x varies. The red that I have used has held up much better than the white that I put on the seat. ...or perhaps, the base paint on the seat just didn't play well with the 2x? The base paint was an unknown type. It may be powder coat. I didn't strip it before painting.
Well, I found some Marigold, and I found out that not all 2x is the same. It turns out that it could be Painter's Touch or American Accent. The Marigold American Accent was sprayed on plastic and dried much faster than the painter's touch Golden Sunset on Steel. Both cans were labeled Gloss. The Marigold may have gotten more glossy if I did a second coat like the other one had. The background is still the same rear end of the same CC 100. I don't know if the paint on it is original or not. I've only owned it for about 10 years. It's prior history is not well known.
