The shifter spun 360*. If you look at the second pic, that cup is supposed to be attached to the shifter. (Like the 3rd pic after I rewelded) It was loose in the shifter housing. I'm not sure if the O is the same shifter or not (don't have one) but I don't believe you have to split the tractor to pull the unit for a look. Go the "Technical Archives" and there is a three part thread on a spinning shifter with detailed pic's.
The last pic is my daughters favorite. That's the one that she drives since it's a hydro. It's an 1862, not a super. It has power steering and the 18 hp Kohler.
Jaybird - that 70/100 does look nice. I think you've made up my mind on the color scheme.
If I have time tonite, I think I'll drain the fuel, mark & remove the wiring harness and then remove the tower. Then once I get the engine out I'll be ready to power wash everything.
