I doubt the shaft size has anything to do with the "Q"...the letters are just as they are for the K-series. "S" means electric start, and "Q" means quiet package. It has a similar design air filter to the AQS engines in the QL tractors.

As I replied to your question on another forum, without knowing what application the original engine was for, or without seeing it, we can't really comment on whether or not it'll work. If it's from a genset, the quick answer is no.

If it were mine, I'd rebuild the 1862's original engine.
