I just joined the site a few days ago and enjoyed surfing around and getting some very useful knowledge.
I also just became the owner of my fathers AGS2140 Cub. I dont know if this a very good unit but it had been sitting a field behind the house ever since he got a new zero turn model and I thought I'd take a stab at it. I brought it home, pulled the mouse nests out of it, changed the oil, new battery, and fixed one tire that had dry rotted. Finally got her running and cant believe how nice it purrrs!!!

I plan on servicing the tranny and getting some new blades for her tomorrow . Only thing missing is the headlight assembly that has been knocked off and lost who konws how long ago and from the price on the web (90 for lens, 90 for reflector) they might just stay off for a while. Can you find used parts for these mowers?
I was thinking of refurbishing the "tins" body panels whatever you want to call them. My brother and I were probably on the obusive side when we younger mowing the 4 acres around the house and Im sure sitting in open for a few years didnt help it either. Its not dented up very bad but there are lots of scrathes and scrapes from trees and fence post some down to bare metal. Id like to get it looking a little better but dont know really where to start. I know some of you guys refurbish the older tractors and thought you could help me with some of your knowledge. Im pretty mechanically inclined but I know very little about painting and restoring finishes. Any and all suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated becuase this will deffinately be something new for me.
