The gap of the points is how you adjust the timing. You are probably not going to end up on .020 If you hook up a timing light and watch the mark on the flywheel, Slightly opening or closing the gap will make the timing mark vary up and down just like turning the distributor on an old car engine. One of mine is at .013 and one is at .016
0.20 will usually make them run. But you can dial them in closer from there.
