Got some of the 2" thick ice scraped down, and can see stones through the ice now.
We then tried our luck with the snow. Almost got whipped, but we kept pounding away at the hard crust (ice) and soft wet snow underneath the crust, until it saw things our way
It is supposed to keep warming up here. Last week was miserable. Temp was -10* at night, and 7* during the day...but with the wind chill, it felt like -17*. We had 3 straight days of that nonsense, then we hit 31* and sunny today!

 I see you are ready for spring! It was warm enough here for me to get out the brinly and plow our garden,I NEEDED some plow time,sure hope it warms up there for you soon,maybe i can post some pictures of my cub plowing our ice/snow free ground
