hey 4zero72. when you do your shim job could you maybe take some pics and tell us about the procedure? I have a 2140 that my dad gave me and I can tell that the clutch isnt the way it was back in the day. Probably becuase my brother and me used the mower the most when we were younger and didnt read the manual either. Mine still goes but I can tell its response is slower as well as the speed. I just havent had the time to try out the shims procedure yet, but Ive read several post in this and other forums saying how much they helped.
