I recieved the kit, and overall, the gaskets look great. You are right Matt, I would rather reuse old head gaskets that put those cheapies in....not that i will.

AJ-Thanks for the stud number. I was hoping someone had a less expensive alternative. I may check our local oddities shop, as they tend to have any type of nut, bolt, tool, bearing, etc a guy might need.


We decided to clean up the engine sheet metal rather than paint it. I took rubbing compound to the metal and WOW! it really cleaned up well. Other than scratches, and some yellow overspray from the PO, it looks perfect. I plan on spraying new black on the top of the engine to set it off perfectly.

Hopefully we start reassembly this weekend.
