My family got a 1641 new in 92. We've put over 1100 hours on the 16hp, briggs vanguard with no issues. So far I've put on it 3 pto clutches (we cut alot of grass), a gear on the starter, a throttle cable, a voltage regulator, and a more recent valve cover with the fill plug (didn't NEED it but, rather than pouring the oil down the dipstick hole...). All this combined with routine maintenence, still runs excellent. I feel it's a great tractor. In fact, I liked it so much, I got another one for the wife to drive to help cut down on the grass cutting time.
We got the bagger attachment with the first tractor, and didn't care for it much.
