Default Has anyone made a cargo carrier for the hitch, instead of using a wagon / cart?

It's the first day for my 1000, and I'm already wishing I had a good way to haul a few items from the house to my garage, which is down the street on another lot ... without having to deal with a cart.

There is a hitch on the back, I guess it's considered 3 point, and as I look at it, it seems that a bracket could be welded up to attach quickly and easily to the hitch & tongue, and which would have some bars or framework to hold a large crate / barrel etc. There are even some holes in the framework under the fender to attach a chain or bungee if needed.

I have an old wooden barrel, and a grease drum, both of which are smaller than a garbage can, but plenty large enough to haul a decent sized load of clippings or misc items, and it would be about even with the top of the seat back, and ride close to the machine.

Close quarters in some areas around here, and something like that would take up way less room than a cart with wheels, and could be easily backed into tight areas.

Has anyone fabricated something like what I'm visualizing? Any pics? Seems like a handy idea, I figure it's been done.

Thx, Josh P
