Do you suppose it looks angled because it is? I mean, it look like someone put a chain around the mule drive and pulled either the tractor or used it to pull something with the tractor, it looks bend pretty badly in the center. Shouldn't it be straight across the front? I think the mule being bent maybe throwing off the angle of the pulley.

I agree with DX3, the left pulley in the upper pic is on the wrong side of the swing attachment. Image trying to thread a belt on it to a deck or tiller, you would have to remove the adjusting bolt to get the belt on, then the belt would basically have the left pulley adjusting shaft through the middle of it!
