Then I started hearing something crawling through one of the walls. Looked into it further in the basement and found out they had a couple ways in, from the roof and at the ground floor. I used cement to patch the wood they had chewed through. I still gotta get up there and clean out that straw. I'm not really looking forward to that.
Dang things are just rats with fur, I don't have a problem with um as long as they stay outside. Their teeth grow like rats and they have to chew to wear them down, so chewing into a house is nothin for the furry rats. As long as they don't get in they will usually stay away, but after they find the warm house, and they like insulation, they will keep coming back. If you catch and move them away, they either come back or find another building/house to make camp in. So after they get in, there is really only one option, trap and dispose of properly, and after you chase them for a while in your house this is no trouble. I haven't heard any noise since getting the two on Monday, so if it clears up today the tree interstate beside the house will be trimmed back to discourage any "newbies" from exploring the roof and finding a home that is just right. Cute and furry, ya, right!!
