Yea there is no magic with this. But it saves me a lot of time. Our yard is pretty rough with lots of trees, and its hard on the tag mowers. They just aren't built for that abuse. (Read that more maintenance)
I drag these through the ditch along the front yard and keep the Cub up on the level ground. Much safer then leaning the tractor into the ditch. We have 600 foot of frontage, so we have 600 foot of ditch to keep trimmed too. Since I rigged these I have not had to weed whack the ditch. One pass each direction and its done.
These work great around trees with branches that you cant mow under with the Cub . Send the little mowers under there!

If I turn sharp to the left I can mow tight around a 18 inch diameter tree. Turning to the right they cut a full swath.
