I've been lurking here for about a year and decided to join. A lot of good info here. I have been around IH machinery all my life. Grew up on this farm running only the red stuff. Dad bought a new CC72 when I was 7 yrs old and told me to take care of it. I had to mow our yard, my grandmother's, my uncle's and our neighbor's yard. Had that 72 until I moved away in '84. Mom needed something easier to mow the yard with (Dad died in '81) so I bought her a used 127. It treated her well and I would travel home whenever I could to maintain it. I moved back here in '91 and used the 127 until '94 and bought a new 1440 for my new wife to mow with. We were never happy with that Cub. It just was not the kind of Cub I grew up with. It always had a problem of some sort or another. Most of the problems were Hydro related but some were mower deck problems. Got tired of it being broke most of the time so I sold it and bought a 149 with a 42"deck, 42"front blade and 42" tiller. We're still using it today with no problems at all.

I am retired now and have 640 acres "hobby farm". I do it with my Dad's 656, 856 and 1066. I also have my Grandfather's Farmall B. We have a lot of fun doing this farming but we really enjoy the time we spend gardening with the Cub. If I could find my old 72 life would be perfect.

Sorry for the long post but, "That's my story and I'm sticking to it".
