Default New to me 149 in my garage NC

Howdy! from Salisbury NC! Seems to be lots of good info here and thought before I questioned on to many threads I ought to slide through here! Just got myself a 71 149 with deck and hydro lift for $275 last week! Been pouring all my weak skills over it and it's finally running pretty well! Got quite a bit of blow by but still manages 110 psi compression, not sure what's going on there just yet! Just really got it running and moving real well this morning had some moments of wow is this all she has!! And a couple of quick searches and fiddling with check valves to wow this thing is gonna work out nice!! LOL! Got some parts ordered got to get the trunnion springs on order as well as it welded up! Anyone local volunteering that's done it? Lol

So far it's been a weird experience mostly learning about an ACR never worked on Kolher engines at all! My dad was like it will never fire with 30 to 50 psi compression, every engine book I've ever dealt with says rebuild after they get below ninety! Then when i buzz him back when it hits and we both like weird!!! LOL! He's mostly Briggs man!! I'm beginning to like Kohler!! Lol easy
to adjust valves that's for sure!
