That is absolutely correct. When I'm doing paintwork, at some point I just have to raise the white flag and say "Okay, that's enough, this is a tractor not a '69 Camaro." You could sand and prep endlessly on some parts. The good news is, a paint job done right will look so much better and last for a long time.

I really look forward to more updates on this machine. This is what my 882 will have to go through at some point in the near future. I can't bring myself to knock it out of service just yet, but the issue may be forced on me sooner than later. My water pump/alternator belt has stretched out so far that I may be pulling the engine before long, and at that point I may as well do the resto.
