I am looking at buying an 1810 that a friend has for sale but it has an issue (He bought it not running so knows no more about it than me). It is hard to start. The carb fills up with gas and floods when trying to start it. He pulled the plug and turned the engine over to blow out the gas and then it would start (after reinstalling the plug

) It ran good for a few seconds and then started to cut out. You could hold your hand partialy over the carb to help keep it running. I am assuming it would just be a rebuild on the carb to fix it? It seems pretty obvious to me that it is carb issues but thought I would post to find out if there could be something else going on. The engine sounded great for the short time we had it running.
